Hide Inactive Courses from Course Enrollment Forms

When enrolling users into courses in the Admin Experience, only active courses should be displayed since an enrollment into an inactive course will not be visible to the learner

It would be beneficial for inactive courses to not be listed on the course enrollment screen so that it's easier for admins to enroll in only the active courses.

Lets make the user experience easier for dealerships. Hide from view inactive

This is a significant problem. As we load courses in the system we often keep them inactive. People should only see what is active and available. This current state leads to tremendous troubles. While not an exciting feature to add, it's a nightmare.

Is it possible to revisit this suggestion?

We have admins that see the inactive courses when they are assigning courses to the users, and we get a lot of calls asking why they are there.

When that are in Course view it is easy to add the Status view and see which courses are inactive, but when they are in the Users view and want to Enroll Users training it does not indicate whether the course is inactive or not.

Here are 2 screen shots of what I am talking about.

Domingo, Thank you for detailing exactly the reason I submitted this suggestion.

@Paul: is there a possibility of adding an option to "hide archived courses" (using a toggle switch for instance)?

    I would disagree Paul.

The act of enrolling users into courses is more probable (a daily action) than having courses pending to be activated (waiting without spoilers as you put it). This can also be handled by the more secure method of enrolling users into a course after it has been activated.

What I think you're not considering here is that some of us may be deactivating courses with no current or near intention of reactivating. We do not delete courses for archival/recording keeping purpuses, so the deactivated courses still show up within the list of courses at the time of enrolling users.

It makes sense that a deactivated course should not appear in a list of courses that are able to be accessed.

Depending on the number of users activated within a day and the number of courses that are deactivated, this could be a bit of a time consuming task to filter through courses to not enroll users into. I believe this idea is logical and is an attempt to make the system more effecient.

There is a not insignificant number of clients who enroll their learners into Inactive Courses regularly! This allows them to set up a launch and then activate the course on the desired date without the "spoiler" aspect of having the enrollment appear with the Course Access Date some time in the future. If this idea gets enough support we would definitely reconsider this position though as we want to provide support to as many client use cases as possible.
