We have customer's all across the country. Our Time Zone is currently set to Eastern time, which is the time zone for the location of our office. However, when students from California (pacific time) view their transcript, it shows the time/date as Eastern time.
This is causing problems for folks who are due at midnight 12/31/2024. Our industry is highly regulated and student's have hard cut off dates to complete their courses. Unfortunately, a lot of students do wait until the last minute to complete their courses.
If a student in California completes their course at 11:55pm their time on 12/31/2024, the system shows them that they actually completed their course at 2:55am on 1/1/2025 because it is linked to the eastern time zone setting on our account. This means even though the student did technically complete the course before their cut off time, the certificates and transcript on their account shows the wrong date and time.
The only way to "fix" this issue is to manually change the completion information for every course that student completed under their account. This causes a massive slowdown for our company in terms of reporting the student's results to their respective state agency.
Please try to figure out a way for the student's course results to be linked to their actual time zone instead of the Absorb account time zone.
Agreed! Also an issue with our company where everyone needs to have the same deadline, regardless of their time zone.
