We've heard you - your ideas matter!

Over the years, you’ve submitted thousands of great ideas through our ideas portal. While we’ve acted on many, we acknowledge we haven’t always provided timely updates. That’s changing.

We’re rolling out key improvements to make it easier for you to track the status of your suggestions & understand how they align with our product roadmap.

What to expect

  • Ideas review - We are reviewing every idea in our portal to ensure you receive the answers you deserve and to help you understand how your suggestions fit into our priorities.

  • Process transparency – We're refining how we evaluate and prioritize ideas. You’ll learn more about this in our next newsletter.

  • Improved access & security – We're working on improvements to how you access the ideas portal. You'll learn more about this later in February but the plan is for you to access the Ideas Portal from your LMS via SSO authentication. Access will be available to all LMS admins so they can continue to provide us the valuable feedback they do today.

We'd love your input!

In the meantime, we’d love your input! Please rate your current ideas portal experience to help us establish a benchmark and guide future improvements.

Anticipating your questions

Q: Will the ideas portal be shut down as part of this overhaul?
A: No, the portal will remain open. The only change you’ll see is how you authenticate. More information on how you’ll authenticate and access the ideas portal from within your LMS will be sent out later this month.

Q: Why is access to the ideas portal being limited to LMS admins?
A: We want to ensure that submitted ideas come from those who manage and configure the LMS within their organizations. LMS admin have the best insight into system setup & can filter learner requests, helping us receive higher-quality, more relevant ideas.

Q: What changes are being made to the ideas portal process? How will this look different in the future?
A: Right now, our focus is on reviewing the backlog and ensuring you receive timely updates on your ideas. In our March newsletter, we’ll share any additional changes and improvements based on this review.

Q: How long will it take to get a response to my idea?
A: We're working on defining clear response timelines as part of this process overhaul. While we don’t have a set timeframe yet, we are actively reviewing all existing ideas and expect to significantly reduce the number of unreviewed submissions by the end of March.

Q: Why am I seeing updates to an idea I submitted 3 years ago?
A: We’re committed to ensuring every piece of feedback is heard—even ideas submitted years ago! Some of the most upvoted suggestions have been around for a while, and as part of our efforts to improve transparency and data hygiene, we’re reviewing all ideas to provide clear updates on what’s available, what’s planned, and what isn’t. This way, you’ll always know where your suggestions stand.

Q: The idea I submitted suddenly gained a lot more votes - what changed?
A: As part of our clean-up, we’re merging duplicate ideas and linking related ones. This helps our product managers get a clearer picture of what matters most to our clients by consolidating votes and grouping similar requests. By doing this, we ensure they see the full scope of client needs, making it easier to evaluate and prioritize ideas effectively when considering future enhancements.

Q: Where can I find definitions for existing statuses?
A: You can read about our status definitions here <insert link>, However, as part of our ongoing improvements, we’re reviewing and refining our statuses and the processes behind them. Expect updates to this information once our new approach is in place.

Q: How do you determine an idea is valuable to clients?
A: Currently we assess value based on several factors including:
Unique votes – The more distinct organizations that vote for an idea, the broader the client interest. This increases the likelihood of the idea being considered for implementation.
Strategic alignment – We prioritize enhancements that align with our vision for the product. You can read more about our vision in our <insert link to roadmap>
Feasibility & Impact – We consider the level of effort to implement an idea and balance this with the impact the idea will have on our client base.
In general, as a product team, we focus on developments that deliver the greatest impact across our client base, and unique votes serve as one of the key indicators of relative importance.
