Deducting amounts from total coupon value would allow users to apply a large coupon amount to numerous transactions, instead of the current configuration that applies the full coupon amount to a selected purchase regardless of total cost.
I agree and would very much value implementation of this suggestion for coupons with a set currency value. I would offer this alternate expression of the idea. If Transaction Total (A) is greater than Coupon Value (B) then upon completion of the transaction, the applied coupon B does not expire post transaction, but rather its currency value is reduced to the remaining balance (A-B=remaining coupon balance). This coupon could then be used over multiple transactions until the balance was less than $1.00 at which time the coupon would expire. It would remove a lot of un-necessary manual work that is currently required to reissue running balance coupons with the current implementation.
