The Estimated Time to Complete appears at a minimum of 15 minutes. This means that any course which is calculated as taking less than 15 minutes (and shows as such on the admin side) will still show 15 minutes on the learner side. This seems an odd rule as a lot of online learning is bitesize and thus will always be far less than 15 mins - especially in our use case.
The current workaround is to manually check and update this field per course which makes the auto field redundant for courses that take less than 15 mins.
I propose the limit is removed and the true average time is used, rounded to the nearest minute. If less than a minute, show as Less than a minute or similar!
WIll do. Thank you for the quick response, Pamela!
Hello Gregg,
Are you able to submit a bug for this through Zendesk so it can get to the appropriate team for triage?
Pamela
I may have discovered a bug. We just recently went live with Absorb LMS, so this is the first average value I have encountered. This particular course consists of a SCORM file with dozens of lessons hosted on an external site. The average time to complete is eight minutes, but I would like to use a range of two to four hours. When I attempt to do that however, the values do not increment by five minutes starting at zero, but starting at eight!
We have released changes in July to remove the minimums and rounding so that learners see the same calculated time that admins see. Please see https://support.absorblms.com/hc/en-us/articles/7542148445459-July-Release-Notes-and-Details-2022#estimated-time-to-complete-0-8 , and thank you again for your idea!
Thank you for this idea! We are working to remove this constraint at this time, and it is targeted to be available early in Q3. We will give you a more specific timeframe once we are development complete.
