Record keeping is important for us as our data is reported to the public. Ideally, we would like to use the LMS as a tool for record keeping in terms of course attendance. However, once a user on our LMS is deactivated, their course records "disappear" from our attendance records as well.
As an example, say we have a class in April 2022 with 26 learners. In May, two of those people retire/leave, their accounts deactivated. When we check the attendance at a later time, the attendance will appear as 24 learners instead. That makes our records inaccurate at a later point, which would not hold up under later scrutiny/data auditing purposes. It's something we've been asking for a bit, so your consideration would be greatly appreciated.
Hi folks,
Thanks for sharing your usecases. While we iterate in the reporting space we'll consider the avenues available to us for including inactive users in the attendance record.
Wholeheartedly agree with this one. Not having access to our inactive employees means our training numbers are not accurately reflected. This is incredibly important for compliance but also comes into play during budgeting discussions. We have seasonal staff meaning that, as soon as their season ends, our training numbers are not accurately reflected.
Hi Hasin,
Thanks for sharing your idea. Can you tell me how you're pulling attendance records today? i.e what report you're using, the filters on the report etc.
