At the moment the situation is the following:
When a learner is enrolled to an ILC session he receives an outlook calendar invitation from absorb. When he accepts the invitation, he gets an error message.
This failure hapens because the invites are coming in via myabsorb.eu with replies (meeting accepts) going to myabsorb.com. The mail server at my absorb does not accept those messages (they are queued), they expire, and the invite reply fails.
A possible solution would be, that absorb configures the invites in such a way that the mail replies go to a functional mailbox that accepts email.
The solution to train all users to accept the invitation but to click on the “do not send a response” is not realistic because the natural behavior in the daily business is diffrent and allmost everyone is used to just accept the invitatation.
do invites for outlook automatically get sent? I don’t see any options to send calendar invite when adding a course.
@Barbara I agree with your suggestion, the "Respond" function would ideally not do anything from the Learner's perceptive, especially what appears like an error message. Setting up your LMS with the Custom SMTP and enabling it in the Absorb System Setting would provide more control over this process, as long as the the invite is generated from that inbox and that inbox is not set up to bounce back/reply automatically.
If I'm on the wrong path - would love someone to chime in who has experience.
