Set Closed Captions default to "Off"

When using subtitles for video lessons, the default behavior is for captions to be "On." This can be intrusive to some learners who would rather have full screen view of content and have the option to turn on captions when needed. Please add a setting to have captions default to "Off." This would mimic typical behavior of streaming video content e.g. YouTube.

As an admin, I see how having this as an option is critical, but as a system user, I find the auto-play of CC slightly distracting as a user who does not use these. It is a great feature for those who need it, but it blocks the screen and can even block critical pieces of the text in presentations.

This would be the preferred approach with subtitles for my team as well. We would really appreciate the ability to both have subtitles available for accessibility and have them off by default.

Would be extremely useful. Many videos are not formatted for adequate space for captions or may have text in the background that is obscured by the CC.

Can't stress enough the need for this simple interface change that will impact learner experience.

    Voting this idea up.

Closed captions should be an opt-in rather than opt-out display feature for the end user, as they are in most other video delivery forms.
