We are days away from "go live", and it disappointing that we won't be able to use the What's Next tile in its current state. Management wanted us to flag all compliance-related content as manadatory, which is well over 1,000 items.
I would like to see the mandatory courses only show up on the What's Next tile when the users are enrolled. Although we mark some courses as "Mandatory", it does not mean they are mandatory for all users. We would like for the courses to be visible and available for self-enroll for all users. Also, I agree with the comment (from Guest) that due date needs to be taken into consideration. My preference is for What's Next to be prioritized by due date, regardless whether the courses are mandatory or not. Is there a way to trigger "Mandatory" on the courses when the enrollments are made by Adm or the supervisor? My rationale is that if I assign my direct-report to take a course, the course ought to be registered as "Mandatory" for him/her regardless how it was set up in the LMS.
I would like to add I believe the What's Next Tile should also take into consideration due dates for Mandatory Courses. I recently discovered it was prioritizing a Mandatory Curriculum with a due date 4 months out over a Mandatory Curriculum with a due date that was in 2 days.
Hi Demetrio, I'd like to see this be more customizable. Many of our courses are Mandatory, few with expirations or due dates. For example, we have 32 specially-catered New Hire Learning curricula (each learner gets assigned 1)that should be top of that list, always. And annually, Annual Learning should be. But because our role-specific certifications are also mandatory, they often affect that order. Ultimately, an optional field on the curricula to indicate the order might do the trick. If all of our New Hire curricula is coded "1," then they come ahead of any other courses from the order as indicated.
Thank you for this idea! Might you expand a bit on your request here? We envisioned the What's Next tile to be an admin-centric way to surface the must-do learning to your learners that is not overwhelming in total number.
Here is the hierarchy we established based on our understanding of the breadth of our clients:
Mandatory (enrolled and unenrolled courses that the learner has access to)
Sub-order: Course progress (most completed first)
Expiring soon (enrolled) (within the next 7 days)
Sub-order: Expiring soonest at the top
Due soon (enrolled) (within the next 7 days)
Sub-order: Due soonest at the top
ILC sessions upcoming (enrolled) (within the next 7 days)
Sub-order: Upcoming soonest at the top
