Today, the most common "help" request I get as admin is that users can't enroll in courses in a curriculum. The only reason for that is that they have not enrolled in the curriculum. If the enrollment button was more user-friendly (today it looks exactly the same as the enrollment button for courses) it would ease the learner experience. For example, move it away from the upper right corner, give it another color, or re-name it. An option could also be to add an error message when trying to enroll in a course, that the user needs to enroll in the curriculum first.
Thank you for your feedback. We recently updated our online course page but have not had an opportunity to work through curriculum or instructor led course pages. I've attached a screenshot of the new styling for online courses. It won't be exactly the same for curriculum as the information to display is a bit different but I hope this gives you an idea of where we hope to go. We'll continue to monitor this idea for feedback and votes and evaluate for inclusion on our roadmap in the future.
Yes, today I had a session with a user who wondered why he was not allowed to select any session. It just showed a BLOCKED icon when he moused over it. No explanation at all. He had overlooked the easy-to-miss enroll button in the top right corner.
The whole Enroll-but-you're-actually-not-enrolled workflow of Absorb LMS is not thought through IMO. There should not be any "Enroll" button but "View Course". And when you click on a Session, you will be asked if you want to enroll in this course. I don't see what value the extra enrollment step adds expect confusion.
This is one reason we have been hesitant to use a curriculum at all. The UI within the curriculum itself is also not very user-friendly and could use a re-design. Thanks for making the suggestion.
I've had to server several people as a result of simply not easily finding the enroll button. Thanks for making this suggestion.
