Articulate Rise 360 courses have a button feature called Exit Course (LMS Only). Currently, when the course is hosted on Absorb, and the user selects the button with that feature, the course will close, but reveal a grey box (the iframe containing the course). The user would then have to select the Green X on the top right of the browser to actually exit and save the course. This issue occurs in both Scorm 1.2 and Tin Can Course types with an xAPI.
I would like Absorb to integrate more with Articulate so that Exiting Course options like Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline 360 will save progress and return the user to the Absorb Dashboard or original Course page. It could be an option in the Edit Online Course page. This would allow an easier learner experience, as they would have two options to save and exit their course.
We have about 200 courses developed with Storyline 3. All the courses have a "Thank you" slide as the final slide. We set a trigger, for that slide so the slide automatically exits after 5 seconds. The user is returned to Absorb, and then, they can choose another course or exit the LMS.
Articulate is the most widely used elearning authoring platform. Absorb should be designed to easily work with it.
Our company utilizes Storyline 3 and we have the same thing happen. If the user uses the "Exit" button built into the Storyline UI, it doesn't actually exit the eLearning, but stays on the rectangle as stated above.
