We agree with this as well. That would be a lot more user friendly and then users would be less concerned if that were the case. When anyone sees a $ they start to feel like they might be buying something!
It would be nice to allow users to bypass the shopping cart for free courses. Our challenge is that currently if someone wants to 'buy' a "free" course, we are charged a user fee even if they do not make an additional purchase. We need to fix this and allow users to enroll in free courses without going through the shopping cart process. I think this also contributes to the amount of shopping carts that are left abandoned.
Agreed! The primary reason we cannot use the public courses option is because users would have to still go through the shopping cart to access a free course, which would immediately turn people off from continuing with registration.
