Currently, If we duplicate a session and change the instructor before we save/publish, the session is capturing the old/original instructor and sending them a session update email notification for the new/duplicated session (again, before saving the duplicated session).
For example, when duplicating a session titled "Customer Life Cycle - 1/11/23 at 1:00pm PT - Drew" session in the "ILC Internal Training: Customer Life Cycle - ORIGINAL" course. If we remove Drew as the instruction and add another instructor and save the new session, upon new session creation, the system informs Drew he has been removed from the copied session even though I had saved this copied session under another instructor.
The system shouldn't notify the previous instructor (prior to saving) when duplicating a session.
I have just encountered this issue when loading up a years worth of sessions.
The duplicate option saved me two days worth of work (which was great), however the instructors receiving multiple emails for courses they were not even running was out of control.
This then created extra work for them having to action each calendar invite request.
The logic here around sending an email to someone when a course has not been published does not make sense.
Really support this idea as it causes confusion for the trainers when they received the conflicting notifications
Any update on when this will be fixed? I am considering no longer using the "copy session" feature at my own expense to alleviate burden of the extra emails to our faciliators.
Yes, I completely support this idea and agree with this statement "System shouldn't notify the previous instructor (prior to saving) when duplicating a session". It's an inconvenience for our team as well.
Hope it will be fixed soon. Thanks
