Course Completion Button

When you complete a course, there is no obvious way out of the course, just the X button at the top of the course itself. Could we add in a "Save and Exit" button to the screens, or a "Close Out" button or something which is a bit more obvious how to exit the learning screen?

This is not currently available. What we would like to see is an obvious button at the end of a course, not the little gray "x exit course" at the top right. There should also be an option to add or remove the end of course button in Create.

This feature is still not available through the Absorb Create module. The tiny grey X in the top right corner is the only way to exit a course and many users don't even see it. Please just add and EXIT COURSE button at the end, especially after completing a quiz, since the quiz just continues to go back to look at your results, but there is no clear way to exit after. This has frustrated many learners, who then reach out to our L&D team, as they are rightfully confused.

I'm not sure why things look different for the other commenters but I do in fact see the words "Exit Course" next to the "X" button on the upper right hand corner of the course. I have attached a screenshot. I should note that I am seeing this in the Absorb "Create" courses, so if you are using something different I am not sure if this feature will appear for you.

Is this feature available now? I don't see anything different from the usual EXIT button in the top-right corner.

I do not find the small Exit message in the upper right corner an acceptable solution for gracefully exiting a course when completed along with others who have commented. There should be a Navigation choice "Exit Course" available for course authors to choose when creating the course itself. We have more novice users in our business than experienced users and probably will for the foreseeable future. We shouldn't need to be coaching people how to use a product that should be very intuitive for users.

This is NOT currently available. It's a trash inconspicuous X in a corner that means nothing. Need a much better UI person to come in and join your team.

I would disagree with the current status of this idea as "Currently Available." Yes, there is a way to close out of a course, but this ticket is asking to make it more obvious than an X in the top right corner.

I am not sure how this still hasn't been updated. Articulate includes this feature, AND it works in Absorb. I would like to see a more explicit method of exiting a course while taking it, and the ability to more clearly instruct learners how to complete courses. The "x" implies a potential loss of progress, and it unintuitive.

This is desperately needed for our clients. It is confusing - if they click the X will they lose their progress? There is nothing that says "Exit"

This would be a great UI improvement.

I agree with this strongly. It would be one thing if the "X" button was there on mobile browsers, but at this time it doesn't appear unless you hit the "expand course details" double arrows on the bottom of the screen. The "X" button appears on a computer browser and the Absorb app, but not the mobile browser for cell phone or tablet users. This makes having uniform course instructions manually added to the course (which is one solution to this problem) a bit of a pain to create/convoluted as the "X" button may or may not appear depending on what kind of device the student is on.

In addition, we have folks that take their training on a tablet or smartphone using the browser version of the course since our organization will NOT allow us to use the app. For these folks, they don't even see the X or navigation most of the time. So for them, they have to click those two up arrows at the bottom of their screen, which are extremely hard to see. Then they have to click on the Lessons tab to see the navigation. Most of my users are truck drivers and warehouse team members. This is so NOT intuitive. Since the new user interface last year, our help desk is inundated with calls as to how to get credit for training. Please provide an intuitive fix to this - soon.

This is something I agree with as well. How to exit a course is not very intuitive specially for those learners who are not tech savvy. And it gets even more confusing when the 3rd party course has it's own X or Exit Course within. Which is the majority of them.

Agreed. While the X is intuitive from an "applied knowledge" perspective, people who are not tech savvy get very confused by the X in the course versus browser window.

This is a great idea and much more seamless.

I would love to see this option. We are a new organization joining Absorb and noticed that the "x' is so far up and to the right it is not going to be intuitive for our staff as it being where they close to log completion of the module.

You have variables so would be nice to have a variable to attach to a button. Normally in things like Articulate storyline or Adobe Captivate you build an "Exit Module" button and the trigger/variable is exit and record completion in the LMS. Alot more obvious and I don't have to tell the learner to select the "x" in the top right to complete.

    Yes, that is correct.
Something more explicit that the X on that top corner.

    Best,

Not OP but this would benefit us too. A lot of confusion tends to exist with externally created courses. For example, I've got a screenshot attached where the course has been imported. There's Absorb's "X" at the top right, the course's own at the top left, and an "Exit Module" built into the course. Using anything other than the LMS "X" means the course completion isn't updated correctly and still shows as In Progress, and often doesn't record the last quiz score within the course (though Absorb does record the date/time spent). We've added an FAQ to confirm the correct process but this relies on people accessing this and being aware of it prior to completing the course. So making it clear that the X is a "Save and Exit" or the main button to use would definitely benefit our business too.
