We've come across this situation a few times now where a Traliant course (purchased and uploaded via Absorb's Library) is inactivated without notice. I am aware there is an inactive date listed on the Course Library report, however, I've come across other situations where the latest version has an inactive date, but the older version does not. Ideally, we'd like to use the newest course and I have to confirm every time with our Absorb contacts which course is safe to use and is most current. It would be really nice to have a better way of managing courses that expire with these vendors. I'd like to see some kind of email that is sent that a course will be expiring soon, or a better note in the Content Library report about versions and inactive dates. Thanks for your consideration!
Hi all - Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to report that this feature is already available in our product.
As of the Q3 release, there is a notificaiton feature that lets administrators know when courses are coming up for retirement in the next 90 days. This article has been updated to reflect this as well: https://support.absorblms.com/hc/en-us/articles/21203608113299-Absorb-Content-Retirement-and-Replacement-Process
Thank you for your time submitting this idea, and we hope you find that the feature we have highlighted meets your requirements.
I vote for this idea. There is no content update notifications from Traliant at all, and that is a big problem. We should have regular updates sent to us, regarding expired courses, or when newer versions come out of courses.
Also, the Traliant List is frustrating, because there is no delineation between which of the duplicated courses is the more updated one. The titles only say (season 3) or don't have a season at all, but this does not tell us which one is more recent. It's not a clear system of labeling.
