"Disable Seeking" on Videos Only When User Has Not Watched Once

Would like to disable seeking for users to ensure they watch videos entirely. Once a user has watched a video once they should then have the ability to scan through to review information easily.

This is functionality is currently available. Here's a related KB article that explains how to enable it - https://support.absorblms.com/hc/en-us/articles/18767076921491-Disable-Video-Seeking

Hello - I was about to submit my own request for this very same thing. We just recently had a big trainign rollout that was heavily video-tutorial-based. The intent was to disable seeking during the initial training so that the user has to watch the entire video. Then our assumption was that the user could return to the video to scrub back and forth to re-watch any point they needed. As we now know, this is not how the disable seeking function opertates.

I would very much like to see an option where after a user completes once that they can move freely around the video.

@demetrio - if what Katie just described is correct, then I think that's a workable solution - thanks for the consideration

@Demetrio In reading your 'ask' -- there are features to allow someone to go directly to a point in a video to 'rewatch' whatever part. This would be allowed ONLY after someone completes with it NOT allowing people to scrub the video the first time around.

@Demetrio, having just a single "Disable Seeking" toggle on the basis that it is ignored if the lesson has been completed works perfectly fine for my use.

Thank you for your idea! This functionality would be invaluable both in the case of returning to the video to review a second time and in the context of a micro-learning with both:
    a) our pinpoint functionality, that currently exists, to go directly to a point in a video based on the automatically generated transcript
    b) future learner playlist functionality to bookmark videos that a learner wants to come back to.

We would prefer to base the ability to ignore the "Disable Seeking" simply based on the fact that a learner has watched it once (i.e. the lesson is considered "Completed") rather than adding a new toggle. Does anyone see an issue with this approach rather than another sub-toggle?

Storyline and other authoring tools (which then have to be made into SCORM files) allow "Review-mode" allowed once watched through the first time. It would be nice to have a toggle to "Allow review" once an Video Object is complete it would 'open' the ability to scrub through for review.

Yes! This is so important! We have users who fast forward through our videos in order to gain access to the quiz.
