Our process is to select one of our saved layouts and then add additional filters to it and then export and send to other team members who don't have Absorb access or directly to our customers. Currently, when we try to export it reverts to the saved layout, which then exports way more information than we need and we have to filter again in Excel.
I find the way the reports are currently generated (11/22) really unintuitive. Its based on a the saved selected layout despite adding/removing filters. Especially when I have a basic layout with several filters and just change ONE element, I'm left having to save/create a new layout so the report will 'update' or generate from the current layout.
I understand why set layouts are needed for scheduled/email reports and even Share to Groups but the on-demand "Generate Report File" should not function that way. I have never worked in a SAAS/program/software that does not adjust the output to the current 'view' each time a new parameter is changed.
This option would be very useful. Often I try to download a slightly changed layout and only after generating it I realize the changes were not applied and I just downloaded a second copy of the layout that is saved.
