We are looking to implement the leaderboards for our company in order to guage our top performing learners who really take initiative to learn. However, the problem we have with the current setup is that if the majority of our learners take the courses available and earn points, they will all have the same score and we can't accurately assess the top performers.
What could solve this issue is by allowing points earned from a course to be variable based on different metrics:
Test Score
Course Score
Time from enrollment to completion
Time spent in the course
Etc.
All of these metrics would help vary the scores for each learner and give us a better leaderboard setup.
How about Leaderboard points awarded based on task completion. For example, if someone completed a course on Providing feedback to others, they could (Optionally) tick off a Task of having used the skills from the course to offer feedback to someone. This would encourage and support post-training application of learning and get the learner some points in the process.
Hi Leighton,
This is a great idea, could you share where you'd envision setting the point scale for leaderboards?
