It would be nice to have more control over scheduling reports. I'd like to see the option to run reports every # of hours or to schedule the time that the report runs. This would be really nice when reports are distributed via email so they're not getting sent in the early morning hours and getting lost in inboxes.
Although I'm happy that our comment has been considered for implementation, I too wish it would be a part of basic reporting. Having to constantly add "add-ons" makes us reflect on whether or not we're best to do with an all-inclusive tool capable of these elements. It would be great to see some development on the basic tools within Absorb, especially since the changes are based on feedback we're providing.
So, the answer is to purchase a new module - Analyze Essentials? No. How about making that feature available to the basic reporting? Clients spend a lot. Ensuring reports can do the bare minimum shouldn't cost thousands more per year.
Hello all,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, this functionality has been implemented in our custom reporting solution - Analyze Essentials. It's created to make it very easy to create and automate the delivery of your custom reports.
I've attached a screenshot of the scheduling configuration in Analyze Essentials. Please connect with your Absorb rep about how you can obtain this feature.
It would be great if scheduled reports could be sent to various groups of users at different intervals. For example, we have a group of executives who would like this report monthly while another group of department managers might need it weekly. Currently, I don't see a way to choose both groups and set the intervals to be different. I'd have to just include everyone and select either weekly or monthly. Hope that makes sense.
In our use case, we'd also like to be able to automate generating a weekly report such that each week it captures data from an incremented time interval. For example, on one week we want to generate a report on how much time each learner spent using the LMS--say between dates a/a/a and the present day. Then on the following week, we would want to generate a report between dates b/b/b and the present day, such that b/b/b is exactly one week after a/a/a. This is easy enough to do manually, but again we'd like to automate the process so that these date intervals (a/a/a, b/b/b, c/c/c, etc.) are updated automatically.
We'd benefit from a custom frequency (# days, # weeks, etc) as well. And from being able to choose specific dates for the report to run, even if I had to manually choose the dates for the rest of the year, it would save time overall and only be a one-time manual process as opposed to going in each time we need this report and sending it out.
Would also like to be able to email report over a set number of days - the bold items to here would be editable. "email report to user daily from x/x/x to y/y/y"
I'd also like to have the ability to limit the amount of times a scheduled report can be sent. Sometimes the reports are only relevant for a couple of months, so I have to go and manually turn it off. The only way I can remember to do this is to also copy myself into all of the automated reports. It just creates a lot of extra unnecessary administration.
Thank you for your interest and thoughts on this idea, however this concept is technically challenging in the base product due to the infrastructure powering our reports as a result it is unlikely that we would be able to implement this enhancement, however it is possible to schedule reports as outlined here in our new Analytics offering, Absorb Analyze - if this is something that you would be interested in I would encourage you to reach out to your account manager. Thank you again for your ideas and I apologize for the limitations currently present in the base reports in this respect.
Agreed. This was one requested by our Above Store Leaders. We email the reporting to Power BI to be ingested (at 12.01a) if we can schedule additional reportings, Power BI will have the "almost" real-time LMS reporting
Adding to this idea, it would be nice if we could set a report to be sent more than once a day - once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
