We have many courses that are specifically for people managers. Today we have several Job Titles that use the word "Manager" yet these roles do not manage people, so we can't use Job Title for enrollment purposes in many cases.
Mapping this "Manager Position" indicator field in ADP to Absorb to identify if a user is a people manager will allow us the ability to set up enrollment rules using that data. I created a custom indicator field in Absorb called "Is Manager" but today I have to manually set it. Being able to map data from ADP to set this indicator would allow an easy way to enroll these users in training.
This feature is now supported, in conjunction with the Manager Experience feature.
I didn't realize this was a feature and not just something that was already working when we made the decision to go with Absorb. Really bummed that we have to rely on manual updates (and the inevitable human errors) - this is what auto-data syncing is supposed to fix. Our antiquated pre-Absorb LMS used the same logic - that everyone with "Manager" in the title is a people manager - and it creates so much confusion for employees and work for me to clean up.
Ben, agreed! When managers leave, someone gets promoted to manager (or goes back to IC-level), it is a PAIN to manually have to make these changes on the back end to make sure that our manager group (which has specific courses assigned to them) is updated.
It is such a simple fix to integrate the "Is a Management Position?" over from ADP to sync with a built in (or even custom) field in Absorb.
I just tried to provide a use case for this desperately needed field in idea #67. The field is already there in ADP, we just need to be able to map it!
Totally wish we had this option! We are running into the same issue where it's next to impossible to create a group just for our people managers that is automated. So instead we have to manually add people. Not sustainable for us as we get bigger.
This is such a huge bummer that this is not a current function. Integrating the "This is a Management Position" field in ADP with Absorb would eliminate having to manually add Supervisor titles to the Supervisor-specific courses. It's not sustainable in the long-run without being more manual than desired. I really wish I would have known beforehand.
