I’ve read up on neuroscience for memory and learning and am starting to rebuild some courses. I want to divide a longer course into several parts (chunks) and lock the next part for 24h/12H to force the learner to reflect and not finish the course directly.
For example, be able to customize pace progress in curriculums per chapter to lock next chapter for a set amount of hours after completion.
I want to suggest it as an idea for the future as I believe this is the direction e-learning should go in supporting the brain and not the opposite.
It could also be super helpful during onboarding (usually three months) to not overwhelm learners and control that they are only using the set learner time per day and not more.
(This suggestion is inspired by the following LinkedIn Learning course https://www.linkedin.com/learning-login/share?account=103215474&forceAccount=false&redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.linkedin.com%2Flearning%2Fbrain-based-elearning-design%3Ftrk%3Dshare_ent_url%26shareId%3D96X2fS%252BRQ6iF3%252FN6W%252FAWMw%253D%253D and a Swedish Psychiatrist company (PBM) that has a new digital CBT tool called FLOW where each part is locked for 12 hours after completion of the previous part to make time and space for reflection and homework.)
I have checked with my CSM at Absorb, and there is no function today that can support my specific suggestion.
