Microsoft Teams Breakout Room Manager capabilitiy

In July, Microsoft released to Microsoft Teams the ability for meeting owners to designate attendees as presenter/managers of breakout rooms. Also released was the ability to pre-assign breakout rooms. When Absorb schedules an ILC session with MS Teams as venue, the ability to pre-assign breakout rooms cannot be configured nor can breakout room managers be assigned. To work around the gap, Teams venues are populated with the individual meeting URL of instructors that requires manual scheduling of events rather than relying on the automation Absorb is supposed to provide. Please work on this.

Thank you all for your patience. This is a feature that the team at Absorb has long wanted to add to the Teams integration, but we did need to wait until Microsoft had published their API as final, rather than beta. Teams co-organizer functionality is now available, and you can learn more at this knowledge base link. Please see the kbase for information on how to enable this function on your portal.

I concur with the comment added by 'guest' 20.08.23. This was a specific functionality request when reviewing LMS platforms and signing contracts with Absorb so I'm a little disappointed it's taken 3 months for me to understand this functionality is not yet available. Huge vote for this functionality, I will have to continue with a manual workaround.

Microsoft API set includes capability to assign meeting attendee as co-organizer. Suggest Absorb adds API coding to assign ILT instructor as meeting co-organizer. As co-organizer instructors would then have breakout room management capability.

Absorb has confirmed that Microsoft has released their API set to production, and we are actively investigating the addition of this functionality.

Absorb is very interested in adding this functionality once Microsoft makes this available in their production API set. We continue to monitor the MSFT Teams API and intend to add co-organizer functionality when we are able.

This would assist us hugely. We run communities of practice and presently have 65 ILCs that will need URLs added to from presenter invites. We realised this by accident during our first one for the year - was a bit of disaster to say the least!!!

Would help us as well! Lots of things can go wrong when we manually generate links. Our workaround has been using the session descriptions, but when people enroll in a session, they may receive a very garbled calendar invite. Having the ability to use breakout rooms in sessions generated by Absorb would help a bunch!

Yes - this prevents us from using the Teams integration, and fixing this would be very helpful (and help our departments love our LMS more!)

Agree with the OP and @Drew Klassen - we would love for this integration to work for us, but without the ability to manage the Meeting Options (and get attendance reports, etc.), this isn't usable.

Yes, we are unable to use Absorb's MS teams integrations for venues because of this.
