Category Filter Multiple Categories/Exclude

When filtering courses I want to to select all courses from category X, Y and Z.

Or I might want to select all courses from all categories except X, Y and Z.

Could the filters be updated to include this functionality? e.g. in the category selection pane, have check boxes against all items (with a select all/deselect all option) that way both scenarios are possible.
