When our learners complete the online portion of training, they require approval from their manager to attend the ILC portion. Before the LMS, the manager filled out a form and emailed it to the course admin. To automate the process, we switched to the Approve/Deny option sent to the learner's supervisor upon enrollment in the ILC Session. This has eased the burden on the manager, allowing them to respond directly from their phone/email.
On the Admin side, we have lost the ability to track approvals/denials. We can tell when a learner is approved by the status change from Pending Approval to Not Started. Denials are just unenrolled/removed from the class. As an admin, I have no way of knowing if the learner was denied, or just didn't register. I need a way to track whether the supervisor approved or denied a learner's attendance request.
I agree with the previous commenters. Having a way to track denials is important to ensure we are providing equal access to training opportunities to avoid any semblance of discrimination, and to be able to address such matters with the supervisor that makes that decision.
Would also like to see/track the amount of times request was denied. Also providing site personnel with Administrative access the ability to approve LDP's or course request when Mangers are not available.
Yes. I also would like to know who approved/denied the request as we have some admins approving on behalf of supervisors when they are on vacation.
