Add Course Code field to Course Details and include in search index

The addition of a 16 character "Course Code" field to Absorb course details, and the adoption of a naming convention by an organization, can greatly enhance the user experience via search and an admin's ability to have greater control of content placement in the user interface and delivery via deeplinks. Course codes can also enable clients to create reports that will allow enhanced filtering of data. Courses for a global consumer can then be coded for the location in the world the course is applicable, and the language. This will mean that the course code will need to be included in the search indexing as well as out of the box reports. It will help with identifying courses with titles in different languages than the administrator can read.

Example of a course code naming convention and how it could be used.

Safety course, personal equipment, on use of respirator (rules are different in different countries). There are multiple countries with multiple languages. It can be taken as an online course, in person instructor led, or virtual session.

A course code example could be:

SFT120ILTCAEN (Safety, 120=Respirator, InstructorLedTraing, Canada, English)
SFT120ILTCAFR (Safety, 120=Respirator, InstructorLedTraing, Canada, French) *NOTE: this course title would be in French, in a report some may not know how to read

With these examples for a learner, I could create a deeplink for codes that contain "SFT120" and return all courses for all delivery options (ILT, WEB, DOC). They could search for the course based on the fact "SFT120" is a unique character set, and not on words that may return many courses. It also will allow them to then have the results show in all languages. Some markets have mixed languages and they need to choose the one that is right for them.

In reporting, these segments of the code could be used to segregate data and bring together courses that are delivered in different formats (WEB,ILT) but are to be counted the same. Or to report on one delivery format regardless of content. This could also be applied to course feedback and ratings. Reports that have titles of courses in languages that can not be read by others is a big problem, and this would allow those titles for courses to be pulled from the other course of similar code.

This is already long, but there are more uses and opportunities this field could provide to Absorb clients and their learners.
