In other LMS' I've used, I've been able to view the full history of files. This includes seeing who uploaded a new version of the file, when they uploaded it, any changes to file name/details, and the ability to open and download the previous version. This enabled us to have much better version control. If something wasn't right, we were able to look back and see who made the change so that we could educate them on how to do it properly. It also meant that if a file somehow got lost, we could download the latest version so that we could make our edits.
