Make 'Date Edited' in Courses Accurate

If I replace a scorm file or remove a section/group in the course it doesn't update the 'date edited' time/date stamp. This is very difficult to know when the most recent file was added. It is also not accurate as the last 'date edited' should be any changes to the course.

That's fair. After reading this I did follow up with one of our development teams. It does look like we have an item for this in our backlog it is just not currently prioritized. Feel free to add any additional detail you have below to help with making sure we capture all business needs.

    Thanks,

    Pamela

@Pamela, I shared this with my teams previously, who suggested adding to the Ideas forum. It's not efficient to create a ticket, have that put on hold, and create an Idea, which is then suggested to create a ticket. Do you need additional documentation of this issue? I can provide a screen recording if need be.

    Hello,
This sounds a little bit like a potential bug or feature gap.
If you have a CSM, could you work with them to create a bug and link it to this ticket?
In the meantime I will reach out to support internally to have them take a look at this ticket too.
    Thanks,
    Pamela

We have a data export of course data, and having the date edited tied to all course parameters/fields is critical to us being able to use a delta file.

We have found that when we update courses within a course bundle, delta export files don't always include the changes. We use course bundles to assign the required trainings associated with over 225 job titles, and we maintain a data warehouse with the course data. The data warehouse must be kept in sync with our Absorb portal.

We have to know accurately what courses are in each of the over 225 course bundles on a daily basis to manage our business. At this time, because the Date Edited field does not reflect all changes, we must use full exports rather than delta exports. Right now our export file is about 9.5 MB. The size limit that can be handled without timing our is about 10 MB. We are very close to the limit and need the option of moving to delta files instead of full exports.

We need the course date edited field to reflect all changes as soon as possible.

Yes, when anything in a course is changed, especially (though not limited to) lesson content, the Date Edited field should be updated and those changes reflected in the Course History.

I agree! Absorb has made updates so changes to SCORM lessons now are visible in the course history but this also needs to be reflected in the Date Edited info in the course report.

I agree. I think ALL edits made to a course should be documented, not just a select few.
