Not sure if this already exists but I don't see this when I'm enrolling a lot of users.
Can we get a functionality where we can just simply upload a CSV (or any format suitable) file containing user details that makes mass enrollment to a course/curriculum/even a session possible?
It's a pain point and to copy-paste emails 1 by 1 in the enroll user function, and no - ticking each user won't be useful since learners come from different criteria.
If not possible, how about a direct copy-paste of many email addresses and they just get separated once entered in the enroll user field?
i made a web app that has this fucntionality using the API. i can pretty much enroll people any way we can think of. currently, i have available: upload from excel/csv, enroll all supervisors, enroll departments, enroll parent departments, copy enrollment from one course to another, and individual enrollment.
This would be so much needed honestly. Adding 100+ users to a course 1 by 1 manually is crazy
I found a workaround that mimics the function. It only works as an initial enrollment, but you can use the User Import feature, load the users you'd like to enroll and then search the import ID it gives you to select all the users in the list.
I hope this will be revisited this would be a great feature and was available to me in a previous LMS, time saving for the admin, but could also be used to credit on mass to e.g. when transferring a new historical training to LMS after initial implementation.
I hope this can by revisited. We had this functionality when we were with eLogic and it was a huge loss to us when we had to move to Absorb.
please revisit this, or to at least offer the ability to make a custom group by uploading names/emails in a file and creating it from there.
Would love to have this suggestion revisited. This ability would save so much time!
This functionality would save our LMS Admins a ton of time because finding every learner individually is a HUGE time suck. Hopefully, they will reconsider the impact this change would have on Admins.
This is an idea that really needs to be implemented. It's sad that Absorb isn't even taking this into consideration. It's a hassle trying to enroll niche users into specific courses when groups don't satisfy the requirement, especially in large organizations.
This is a real miss on Absorb's behalf.
The fact this is listed under "Unlikely to Implement" is the exact reason that after our contract is up I'm moving back to Cornerstone.
Yes, this would be very useful. Especially when opening a new office, a new plant with many users that need to be enrolled in different courses, that would save a lot of time and lower the number of mistakes.
In some cases, it will help to import completed enrollments from other platforms where online courses happen. For example, we use a third-party platform for courses about navigating the web safely. For now, we need to recreate the enrollments manually in Absorb to have the historical data in one place, very time-consuming...
I would be OK to have a limitation on the number of enrollments uploadable at once, so we do not take up too much of the server's power, but I think it's a must to be able to upload a list in a CSV.
It is unfortunate this doesn't exist. It is present in every other LMS I've used.... We should be able to upload a CSV for assignments, completion, un-assignments, and course activations/deactivation
This is a big gap in Absorb LMS functionality. It seems straightforward and I was initially surprised it wasn't one of the first features enabled. Makes it very difficult to assign a course to a disparate group of employees that don't neatly fall into the pre-determined groupings.
I just read the last line "how about a direct copy-paste of many email addresses" - after bulk uploading the users, you get the option to view users, you can then select all (with the tick all), and enrol them all in the course at once (enrol users - button on the right)
I would also like to see this functionality. I have set up auto enrolment rules within courses to work around this. Eg - if you bulk upload a bunch of users into department X, and you want them all to be enrolled in course Y, set a rule in course Y to auto enrol any users in the X department. If you need more complicated rules, you could use groups or a combination.
Totally agree with this suggestion. It would be fantastic to be able to upload a csv file or even copy and paste email addresses to enroll a group of people in a course. Or even perform a similar function when creating a group of users. This is super time consuming to manually type in individual names.
agreed with James. if a course with that exact title or ID exists, enroll and mark complete, if not, then just add to transcript. I imagine that when clients are migrating from a legacy system to Absorb, there is a way to migrate all of the learning history without the need to recreate all of the courses and enrollments.
I am just thinking form a transcript view. Just write a record, not have to create a course. Similar to External Training just to maintain history.
I understand this ad-hoc approach would offer more flexibility, but the technical implications around around downstream effects and how these changes might be audited make this too large and complex to tackle with all of our other planned feature development for 2022.
To be able to upload a CSV to manually update a group of users learner history (completion) to a course would be really useful for us
