Add a field on the user profile for LOA

Currently we have a large number of users on leave of absence and when they go out their user account is marked as inactive due to our integration with the HR system. These users generally come back after a period of time and currently if they are enrolled in any courses the session is removed. I am having to manually track who is out, when they return, and what courses they are enrolled in using Excel outside of the LMS. The LMS should be able to hold that seat unless an admin removes it. Can you add a field to mark that a user is on a temporary LOA so that the session enrollment is not dropped when a user is marked as inactive for that reason?
