Develop a single repository for resources and allow linking from courses to the global repository. that way there is only one file and we won't have to remember which courses have resources attached.
I'm perhaps not understanding your request here, but I currently add resourses to global resources first. Then when I'm in a course, in the 'Resources' section of the course creation, I add a resource. When I open the file manager, instead of clicking on 'Upload', I search for the file I already added in the global resources and select it. If I need to update the file at a later date, I update it in the global resources and that updates it everywhere else it is selected as a resource.
+1 to this. I would be handy as it would allow users to search under the Global Resources as well as the Resource tab within the course view. This is handy for follow-up or resources which may link to more than 1 course, so we can be sure we only have 1 resource to keep up-to-date. We also link to a lot of process guides within job role bundles/curricula, so this way we can link to one resource and make 1 person the content owner.
