To whom it may concern, In 'USERS" via Admin there is no "Group" Column/Category that can be added to confirm that a user belongs to a group. Nor is this option available under "GROUPS". Currently you have to go into each individual user and verif...
We need to be able to see all the Groups a User is linked to from the User screen (like we can see Department from the Profile Summary) We can't tell if a user was potentially added to the wrong group by mistake when viewing the user set up.
Groups are really one of the only ways to have more nuanced segmentation of your user base within Absorb, as the Department structure is more rigid. Allowing for a better analytical view of group membership (from both the group -> users in group & User -> Group Memberships) standpoint will be extremely helpful in keeping a well-organized and powerful learning management system.
I concur with the other comments about group membership usefulness.
We use groups to build collaboration sessions, for our newsfeed, for mass emailing, and for enrolling. Sometimes we are hoping to select only specific levels of folks (like Department heads) for certain communications. We also track what we send out. However, not being able to view group membership, it becomse hard for us to know if we captured the right people for the right marketing or course enrollment. We need to see if someone got the admim email, the lay email, and/or the external email. This is just one example for groups.
There are also certain features that can only be done en masse using the group feature. We need to be able to search for who was in that group to see if they are included.
Our company recently went through a reorganization due to an aquistion which required me to update the criteria for dozens of groups. Being able to view group membership would help me to find anomalies. Our previous LMS not offered this feature, but also included a report which displayed the criteria for each group.
If I understand correctly, the primary goal here is to track groups membership in the context of course assignment rules or marketing activities? If such report were available, how would you act on this data (either the user or the groups)? If it happens that the user doesn't belong to any group, is it because it's not required in your organization or is it the result of lack of such feature?
Since this idea is trending up recently, I'd like to understand the problem we could potentially solve for you.
Similar to this request, there needs to be the ability to filter user lists by group as well. Currently, when you filter a user list by multiple groups, it shows all users who belong to any one of the groups. However, sometimes, I need to be able to only see users who belong to all the groups. For example, if I have group A, Group B & Group C. If I add all 3 groups to the user filter, it will show me all users who belong to any one of those groups. However, if I need to see users who belong to all 3 groups, I have no way of seeing this. I agree with Peter and others that this type of reporting should be part of the standard reporting - especially considering a user can only belong to one department, so groups is the only way many of us can customize content.
While it is helpful to have this available via Analyze, not all of us have budget for that add-on. I hope this specific idea gets highly prioritized for the standard reporting features.
To add to Roberts comment here, this can be done with Analyze and so for those of you that are interested in BI reporting, and have budget for an add-on, this may work well for you if you don't want to wait for us to prioritize this amongst other development items next year.
This report is an absolute must! Very difficult to track students and their enrollments and be able to use for potential markteting purposes.
Thank you everyone for your interest in this reporting enhancement, the roadmap for 2021 is already set, however as we look to continue reporting enhancements in 2022 this is a feature that we will be considering when determining the scope of reporting enhancements.
This would be such a fantastic feature for us as well as the managers in our programs!!
