Expiry time of courses should be at midnight- not equal to time of enrollment

There is no way to include "time of enrollment" to the expiry messaging in emails or on the indicator of when a course is coming due to expire.

The standard understanding when things expire is always at midnight - this should be applicable to all enrollments. It should not be expected that a student has to look on their transcript to see what time they enrolled in a course to know when the course expires - could be several months or maybe even years since they enrolled.

We found this out by circumstance - had a few students "expire" mid day on their expiry date and unable to complete a proctored exam.

This is not ideal.

The Expiration Date field can be useful for compliance-related training, but there needs to be an option to not display the banner until 30 days before the expiration date. Users do not need to see an expiration date more than two years in the future!

I too stand by my initial comment/suggestion of expiring at midnight. We sell our courses to the public, we do not use Absorb as an internal training platform. People who pay for a course expect it to expire x number of days/months (however the expiry is set) AT MIDNIGHT.

correct, it is using the "time from enrollment" option, as our courses/curricula are auto assigned to new hires on their first day. So they will have 1, 7, 14, etc. days to complete the course, and it is sending an overdue notice in the morning or afternoon of the last day to complete. It really would make more sense to have it be at midnight on the day from enrollment. This is how our previous LMS worked, as well as others we previewed.

Thank you for letting us know of your learners' challenges with enrollment expiry. To confirm, when using an explicit "Date" option for Expiration on a course enrollment, the expiry time is midnight. It is when using the "Time from enrollment" option, that it is dynamically picking up the time of day the learner actually enrolls in the course. It is with this option then that there is some confusion for the learner, correct? We are reworking our learner experience course workflow and pages as part of the upcoming July release, and we have explicitly added the Time element to the expiry banners of our new course player (which is replacing our Course Details page where expiry banners presently appear) based on your idea here. Please see attached image.

This will likely help reduce the confusion. Please let us know your thoughts. We can also further investigate with the Admin Experience team how we might add the time element to expiry email notifications as well as other options.

I completely agree that this should be changed midnight, as we are only able to select a due date, not a due time and date. If I put a due date, it would imply that have that entire day to complete it.
