The course resources is a cool function to utilize for all learners to have access to relevant course content. While we utilize sharepoint and other external programs to house our training presentations, I'd love for the LMS to be the sole source of training material for learners AND for facilitators. I'd love to be able to post the instructor guide, presentation, and other course material to the course itself that is only accessible to the instructor of the course/session.
Hi Paul,
In our case, we use online courses to facilitate blended learning (instructor-led with self-paced courses). It is our only option since ILCs limit us to resource uploads only.
It would be a time-saver to edit material in one place with its corresponding course. It would also be easier for our instructors to toggle within the course between the "student view" and an "instructor view" rather than having to navigate to Global Resources. I presume this idea would apply to ILCs the same way.
Global Resources is a good option, but the content is disjointed.
Hello Admins!
This is a good idea, can you talk a little bit about where the gaps in the Global Resources option are that a Instructor Resource would address?
I agree with this suggestion. While the Global Resources option is a good workaround, we need an editable "Instructor Resources" section within the course viewable by instructors only.
Yes, I was surprised that there is no "instructor view" for courses in the LMS. Particularly in situations where we are providing course content to external instructors. There is no way for instructors to view the course content (resources from the learner perspective) or their own resources (lesson plan/instructor guide, PowerPoint, activity descriptions, etc.).
We are implementing this on our system now with Global Resources and making them only to Instructors and the folder is the class name. However, I think it would be so awesome to have a new Section of the Course builder that could have them as a tab that does only visible to the Instructor(s) of a course/all instructors. It could also be done like Collaborations where something is associated with the Course, but not edited WITHIN the course.
