Allow inactive users in Learner Progress report

It's not possible to view the progress of inactive users on multiple courses save by viewing their enrollments individually. Adding the ability to include inactive users in Learner Progress reports would enable us to compare, e.g. past cohorts to present cohorts. Most importantly, however, it would allow us greater flexibility in viewing the status of ALL users in the LMS at any given time.

Another user has suggested adding the ability to 'filter by group in reports and users' which would accomplish the same goal IF user status could be the basis for a group (which it currently cannot).

Currently i can view inactive users in reporting if i am in my System Admin account, however if i create a Group and assign a Admin to that Group and assigned them a custom role i created called "District Manager" they do not see inactive users in reporting until the System Admin sets them active, but once they are back to inactive their report data goes away.

It would be helpful to see Active and Inactive users in the Course Enrollments also.

I support the comments below. In addition, any admins set up through a group cannot view inactive users and they need to be able to both view them (in case they need to reactivate them) and also include them in course completion reports for auditors.

Hi Folks, thank you for sharing your use cases, and for being patient with my response. We're committed to continuous improvement and insightful use cases like this are very valuable to our iteration process. We'll keep this need in consideration as we iterate on our reporting offering.

We use Absorb for customer-facing training during onboarding. 90 days post their go-live date users are deactivated. One customer will have multiple rounds of new employees, so we need to be able to report on learner progress across all of the users for the customer, whether they are inactive or active. This provides us historial progress data. We may then report of completion rates by customer monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.

Being able to include inactive users in the Progress Report would also help to show how many (and which) accounts were deactivated each month. For my organisation it is important to measure participant drop-off as well as progress/completion. Ideally I would like to be able to see a deactivation time stamp as well, but using the "last edited" time stamp is adequate, as it is unlikely that accounts get edited after being deactivated, and deactivation equates to an account edit.

    Hello all,

Could you share a use case for including both active and inactive users in the Learner's progress report?

Yes! We need to be able to report on both active and inactive users, and some reports include the filter for user status, but others, such as learner progress do not. This makes it difficult to report on historical data. Having all the same filters available for all reports could also be a solve for this.
