Customizable ribbons

It would be great if we had more options to customize ribbons on the private dashboard, such as linking a category of courses to a ribbon instead of the whole catalog, or showing different categories to different groups of users, for example by language.

It would be really great if we could have multiple custom ribbons and names - where the names are also translated using the translation table. Currently I'm told we can effect custom name translation but it is not working in practive whether we use a Translation Key or Translation Value in the Custom Ribbon Name field in the Template.
These examples were created in our sandbox as a test.

    Hello again,

I just wanted to let you know that custom ribbons have been part of our August release and are currently available. You can now create ribbons based on a category or a tag(s) and custom label them.

I'd be happy to hear some feedback, once you get a chance to use them. It would help us with the next iterations of this feature.

    Thank you!

This would really be a plus for the LX. I we can create a Netflix/Amazon Prime or other streaming services kind of look and feel in combination with the billboards. This would increase the user friendliness because a lot of people now these LX design and know how to use it.

Hi, it would also be great if we could have multiple nameable ribbons. You can change the translation for an existing ribbon (example: featured courses) to whatever you want (like "Cooking Courses") - but you only have so many to work with, and then you lose the real one. It would be great if you could have some that you could name whatever you want, and then have rules you could choose from that determines what courses appear - such as a tag like you mentioned below. As someone said, we would love to give that true Netflix experience. Thanks!

    Hello,

I can see a number of you mention building custom ribbons by tying them to a course category. Since a course can belong to only one category, I can see it as a potential limitation if you'd like to have the same course displayed in more than one ribbon. Would this be something you see as an actual problem in your case?

As an alternative, creating custom ribbons could be based on course tags, which are free of that limitation, as you can assign multiple tags to a single course.

    Thank you,

    Piotr

i would also like to have customizable ribbons so i can connect a ribbon to a folder, like you can do with a customized tile. It would help us to guide our customer to the correct micro learnings.

Generally just the ability to create custom curated Ribbons is pretty critical and lots of your competitors already do this.

This is a super important feature for our business because we need to make sure that certain course titles that would normally resonate with a broader range of people are not buried under their main primary category. Being able to create ribbons by our category titles would eliminate the amount of clicks between the homepage and starting the course that best resonates with our customers.

It would also be helpful if you can customize how a ribbon is sorted and add some of the functionality from the pages they're pulling information from.

For instance, the My Courses ribbon. It would be awesome if you could hide completed courses from the My Courses Ribbon, so learners don't get overwhelmed by it. Just show the courses they have enrolled in and yet to complete. Giving us more options for how we use these tools makes them more useable. The My Courses ribbon is great for granting easy access for a learner to jump right into their trainings. But when it's crowded like that, it makes me want to remove it and revert back to the My Courses tile (which is an extra step I'd like to spare the learner).

Thank you for this idea! We will take this into consideration when we plan our 2023 roadmap. We will update this ticket once that planning is completed.

A ribbon for these would be nice. We make due now using Tiles/Hyperlink, and the target is a link to that specific category. I can only see the language differentiator work if the common language users are all in the same dept and create a dashboard template for that dept.
