Currently in the Manager Experience, direct reports can only report to one manager. It would be very beneficial if they could report to more than one manager because we have a lot of cases where there's more than one manager to a department who would need access to the employees.
This would be extremely helpful as we have internal managers that are required to have access to the training data of those who sit outside their reporting chain/department. The only way I have found to achieve this currently, is to create a group and give them Admin access for that group.
We need this functionality as well. Not all LMS's are for internal use. Ours is a sales training platform, and requires at a minimum 2 departments to oversee results of another.
Reporting structure doesn't always determine who manages the learning. For instance, we have departments in which there is a manager has multiple assistant managers to help supervise a large staff. In the current Manager Experience model, the Assistant Managers wouldn't be able to support the Manager in overseeing learning. And if the Manager is gone for a day, the Assistant Manager isn't able to fill in.
Allowing for multiple people to see/view/manage a group of staff would be very helpful.
I disagree. Most companies will still have one manager/supervisor each person reports to.
100% agree, many companies, like mine, has a management structure that has management and supervisors working in the same team. Supervisors and perhaps other levels of seniority are all interested in the learning engagement of associates - whether that is on the same team or not.
Long story short - don't restrict the view of "direct reports" to just the manager of a team - give us 'Absorb Admins' the full ability to assign view to ANYONE we choose.
I agree. We have operations and training teams involved in enforcing content completion so having multiple people able to spot-check completion for specific teams would be ideal.
