Calendar view to easily see events, ILC's.

From a user experience point of view, it would be beneficial to have a calendar view to see all the ILC sessions they can enroll in, and ideally be able to enroll in them from the calendar view.

At the moment, users have to click into multiple different categories to see what's available and it would be easy for an option to get missed.

This would aid the culture of continuous learning, by easily making available the options for people to enroll in what they need for their development.

Our users want to quickly see all available session dates at a glance, regardless of the specific ILC course. The date of the session is what's most relevant, not the course topic. To improve ease of access and make sessions easier to find, it would be great to have a comprehensive overview.

This is a definite need. Right now we have to keep a separate calendar on a website. Because of our SSO set up, we cannot easy link the courses on the calendar to the ILT registration pages. If we had a calendar housed inside the LMS, this would resolve a lot of client frustration and issues.

We need a calendar that a manager can use and see all classes that they have techs in. And the calendar doesn't really give any information just the day that the class starts. There is no indication if the class is 1 day or 5 days. The information below doesn't even indicate the number of days, or the session name (In which we put dates for clarification).

Because of this lacking function I am forced to now keep everything in absorb AND Still utilize the excel system that we used before the purchase of the LMS. So instead of getting to do less work because we made this investment I now get to do twice the work of keeping everything in the new system and keeping the old system up to date at all times.

The current view is not very helpful and mostly not used because of it and it causes a lot of duplicate work inputting the ILC into other calendars. If we can have more options for how to see it, what is in it we would start to use it! Thanks!

Very needed - the calendar function as it is right now isn't serving us a purpose and is underutilized just becasue of the view. In fact, we keep a separate Google Calendar just to give learners a better view... then we lose that one source of truth. Thank you!

How is this still not been added into the platform? This is much needed functionality.

This is much needed functionality. A user shouldn't need to be an expert in the LMS to sign up for a class, they should be able to see all classes available to them on a calendar and just click to enroll - would save our training team a lot of headaches!

Please add this back to the Roadmap! This is a needed feature. This feature is available in other LMS platforms and should also be available in Absorb. It is a client must have and will add value to the learner experience.

My company is new to Absorb, and as System Admin, one of my main responsibilities in bringing our website over to the platform is to set up a calendar page for users to see when our newest training webinars are going to be aired and then posted. To find out that I'm going to have to do that in a roundabout way is a little baffling. I would absolutely support the idea of a clean, sharp calendar page similar to what others have posted in these comments being added to the platform.

We use Google Calendars and the Add to Calendar button only works for Outlook. This causes confusion among our learners. And... it's awkward telling them that the button can't be removed or fixed to work for Google. They get the Google calendar invite, but still the button has garnered some frustration.

I agree, this is a very basic feature that is missing and forces all of your clients offering ILCs to find workarounds, which are all less than an ideal solution of having this natively in our LMS.
I too am curious about this data and client feedback you are basing your decision on. Can you please elaborate?

Well this is exactly what we didn't want to hear. We have been holding off adding ILCs to Absorb so we could have this amazing feature for our company. Now we have to come up with a work-around that is not going to function like it should and look crappy as well. This is one of the biggest and most impactful features you could roll out and you aren't. That hurts many of us. I'd like to know what this "recent data and client feedback" is that made ya'll pull back on this feature. I can't imagine anyone saying that they don't want this feature. This is pure rubbish!

This is a dealbreaker if you ask me. If Absorb wants to build a serious platform where we can als use the e-commerce module this feature should be a must-have. The first feature that every serious training-website creates is an overview of scheduled training classes in a calendar overview.

I would be really curious at what empirical data you are looking to conclude that this feature is not useful, especially since we have had long conversations already with your colleagues on this. Seems to me that you are lacking data.

    Don't believe us? Here's a few examples:

    Hi Whitney,

I am disappointed to see this idea (as well as several others) be removed from the roadmap. It's frustrating when we as clients are told we will have a feature implemented, and then for Absorb to backtrack on that. I get it, other things come up and become more prevalent and Absorb can only work on so many projects each year. We've previously shared with our team that this specific idea will be coming in the near future, so it will be a bit embarrassing on my part to have to tell them that Absorb decided to not actually implement this idea. I hope that this idea will be on a future road map because the current calendar view is extremely cumbersome.

Thank you for taking the time to contribute to this idea. We regularly review your feedback and it is instrumental to our feature prioritization and development process. After reviewing our most recent data and client feedback, we have decided to remove this item from our roadmap. It will be re-evaluated for inclusion on our roadmap in the future though, so please continue to share your feedback and your votes here.

We are anxiously waiting for this feature and are holding off adding ILCs in Absorb. I see it's on the roadmap but is there an ETA on when this could be ready? 2 month, 2 years, something so we can plan for this transition from a sharepoint calendar of ILCs to Absorb?

Hi Demetrio, I agree with Rebecca. The current calendar is not user friendly and way too hidden to be useful.

When a course has recurring sessions it seems to show only the first session. Very confusing. Attached is what we do in Excel instead - which we would much rather have within Absorb.

This would be an amazing feature! Our organization currently uses an Outlook group calendar that gets shared to sharepoint, however it's not the prettiest and shows it in a list view instead of calendar view. We love so many features of Absorb, giving learners a one-stop-shop for all learning and having a calendar they can view to see ILC's would be the cherry on top. I hope we hear soon if and when this could be implemented as we are unable to truly build out ILC's because of not having it on the calendar.

In our organization's last website redesign, we lost the ability to have an internal training calendar where managers could post upcoming sessions of CPR/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen classes being offered at different Y Branches. It would be really helpful if the Calendar feature in Absorb didn't just show the upcoming ILT courses a user was enrolled in, but rather all the possible ILT options being held in a given month.

Calendar View

We would like to see an easier way to view upcoming courses (two week lookahead) as an associate. We have been told a new view is in the que for November unsure if this will solve this for us.

When an ILC session is set up with recurring session. I'd like to see the recurring sessions on the calendar.
