Course Player Page "Theme" in New Learner Experience Needs...Something

The New Learner Experience has a lot of great features and a clean, fresh look, however, the online course player page lacks contrast. Its so homogenous that it doesn't direct the learner's eye to anything specific which makes it unintuitive. Since switching over I've gotten several comments and requests to make a users guide or tutorial on how to use the online course details page. This feedback tells me something needs fixing in the UI.

I would like to be able to choose between layout styles/themes of higher contrast and use more of the Department Template Theme. Maybe a 'dark' mode or vivid look, versus the minimalist white with gray subtle division of content pieces. As it is now, it's a pretty stark contrast between our dashboards' designs, it needs to be more cohesive.

This idea may be similar, but I'm not entirely sure: https://ideas.absorblms.com/ideas/LMS-I-1760

The new course player UI cuts off chapter headings (regardless of which 'view' users select) and has begun to generate negative feedback from our client base (which are non-office workers). This change effectively negated the single-most reason we selected Absorb as our LMS - Which was to provide the clearest learning path for our students. This change has increased cognitive load in our students who are trying to figure out what is expected of them when navigating learning.

I totally agree. Our users a little lost now and it's harder to get back to the curriculum (only by clicking the small X in upper right corner now). We even lost the universal footer with our customer service email for contacting us so if they are confused they also can't email us questions from the page that is confusing them.
