Redirect to login page when a user navigates to a Global Resource link
At this time, when a user has a link to a global resource but they are not currently logged into Absorb, they receive a generic error page. It would be helpful to include a reminder that they must be logged in to access the content.
Thank you for taking the time to contribute to this idea. We regularly review your feedback and it is instrumental to our feature prioritization and development process. After reviewing our most recent data and client feedback, we have decided to remove this item from our roadmap. It will be re-evaluated for inclusion on our roadmap in the future though, so please continue to share your feedback and your votes here.
At Absorb we are constantly working on new features using new technologies that open up new possibilities, so I thought I would jump in here. In our development of the new File Management tool we used a file authorization mechanism that enables us to satisfy this request. Our release of File Manager is currently targeted to the end of Q3 and although the redirect requested here may not work at launch, we will follow up with this functionality shortly after.
Thank you for your idea. We do not have plans to support this redirect for private global resources at this time. We will revisit this for future roadmaps.
It would be beneficial if the deep-link worked via SSO for Global Resources as it does for Courses.
Currently - If you have a link to a Global Resources that is marked Private, you receive an error page. If the Global resource is marked public, it works, however, this link is available to anyone/anywhere. (It is not restricted to only those who have an account in the LMS)
Ideal Solution: When a Global Resource is marked Private, you would be a to deep-link to that resource via SSO. This functionality was built for deep-linking to a course, however, this functionality was not built into the system for Global Resources.
Other departments in our company would like utilize Global Resources by linking to them on the LMS, but because this functionality is not available, they typically build their own resource or take a copy of the global resource. (Anytime there are multiple copies of a resource, it is very difficult and inefficient to update them all when changes are needed.)
Currently, when I try to deep link to a resource, users will be instead brought to the log in page for absorb. As a workaround, we have linked to the resource search results, identifying only the targeted resource. This is fine, but adds another c...
It would be helpful to be able to share resources with learners the same way you can share courses to make them easily accessible. We have a broad range of learners who have trouble navigating the LMS and we need them to see specific documents wit...

When Global Resources that are already uploaded are replaced the URL changes. If that URL is copied elsewhere to share the resource that URL link also needs to be updated or else it shows the previous version of the resource. It would be helpful i...
Would really like the ability to share links to private resources to our internal team via our fortnightly newsletter.
The inability to share a private resource link means that we now need to reside documents in another portal that can be shared via a link.
Simply sharing the link to the resources page is inefficient of the team members time, as they then need to navigate to the document in question.
