Automatically complete attendance for instructor-led course based on Microsoft Teams attendance

It would be great if Absorb could talk to meeting hosting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom to know which users enrolled in a course actually attended the course. I have used other LMS platforms where within 24 hours of the instructor-led course, the LMS would record who attended the course and who did not attend. This took the manual burden off of the admins, and ensured attendance was being completed accurately and timely.

I finally used this for a large meeting and it did a great job of capturing attendance, the late comers trying to get full credit, and even had a list of unmatched names for those who logged in from a computer outside of our company. Nice feature.

I added this Absorb Idea yesterday: https://ideas.absorblms.com/ideas/LMS-I-3081 about auto-filling "absent" attendees with the MS Team Integration. I like the new "Autofill" feature. However, we still have to manually mark absent attendees. It would be terrific if Absorb would gather details from the "Attendance Report" from the MS Teams Integration and automatically mark those participants as absent who were not in the virtual course. This would alleviate countless hours of facilitators and admins manually marking learners as absent in ILC sessions in Absorb. Currently, the "Mark Attendance Reminder" email that Instructors receive automatically marks attendees absent when the checkbox is not selected. I'd like to have this functionality added to the new Attendance Autofill function.

Thank you for this idea, and I'd like to share how we've solved for this problem for MS Teams.

For your MS Teams meetings, after a session has completed, the instructor can head over to the mark attendance page and use the new 'attendance autofill' function. This function queries MS Teams for the list of attendees, and then attempts to match them to LMS enrolled users by email address and/or screen name. If either match, then the learner is marked as present for that session. When there are attendees that do not match up, the instructor can manually reconcile that list against learners. It's important also for the instructor to save the page following the autofill process, as they must validate the autofill recommendations.

This functionality is available for Teams only at this time. If Zoom is critical to your workflow, please inform Absorb support. With enough traction, that addition may be considered in the future.

Finally, regarding the question about partial attendance, please amplify the following idea - https://ideas.absorblms.com/ideas/LMS-I-2774. It would be interesting to see how our clients would intend to use a feature like that, and we'd love for more information.

This is a Crucial requirement for our organization.

@Absorb: when can we expect this feature to be release ?

    Thanks.

I would like to add to this...as an additional feature, it would be great to have parameters that the attendee must meet, like they must be in the class for X amount of time in order to receive credit for that class. Often times we have folks who will join for 2 mins or 5 mins and the class is a 90 min class. They shouldn't receive credit for that class.
