Each time a learner opens a new course that has been set to expire on a certain date they get the yellow bar of warning. That requires them to take notice and then click on the X so they end up with a bit more room on the screen.
There should be a way to have a button that says "Don't Show This Again" It is a redundant notice that is irritating to the learner. This same notice shows up on each course in the curriculum and does not need to be flashed at them each time they load a course.
We have the nudge button for those recalcitrant users anyway.
